Poi and blisters?

My bandaged fingers.
Since I've started to try poi, I've been getting blisters.  It's really frustrating and painful.  My first blisters recovered.  The hoop jam the other day made me have more blisters.  I can't seem to practice for more than a few minutes before I get more.  Do I wait till my skin toughen ups?  I find most other holds awkward and hard for me to achieve the one move I know. I hardly have had hoop bruises and so problems like this have never happened to me.

  2. Caring for a blister can be difficult if you don't know the simplest way to do it. It's easier if you develop blisters with access to medical help, but what if you're in the woods or mountains camping or trekking? I made a mistake once of using new shoes to trek without breaking them in first. It didn't help that my pair of socks was not thick enough. Results: painful blisters! It's a good thing that I was reading on first aid on what to do if you develop these. Now, here's a great site to help you, as well.
